It is a pity that in our country proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle became relevant not so long ago, and as for healthy and proper weight loss, we still have many problems here.
I fight diets like swords, putting a lot of effort and energy into proving that the pounds I lost through starvation will definitely come back, to say nothing of my health and broken metabolism.
I like breaking myths about nutrition, I think this makes it easier for people to perceive the truth, and my goal is to help people and put them on the right path.
Today, let's try to dispel some myths regarding diets and prohibitions. If at least one person out of a hundred believes me, it is already a great success for me.
- Popular gluten-free diet, why? Unless you have celiac disease or gluten intolerance, there is no reason to limit your gluten intake. It is a protein found in wheat, oats, rye and barley. These products contain quite useful nutrients, such as vitamin B and cellulose. If the reason for removing these products is their high-calorie content, I will argue with you and tell you that quite a few products are high-calorie, and if we are in a calorie deficit, taking them because of weight gain should not scare us. As I have mentioned many times, moderation is the first step towards a healthy life.
- I don't get fat, fat makes me fat. The trend of low-fat diets is a trend of the past 90s, but not in Georgia. Unfortunately, a similar opinion is still relevant in our country, which is extremely dangerous for health. Fat is essential for our body, it has such useful functions as protecting our organs, maintaining cell membranes, promoting growth and development. Fat helps the body absorb vitamins. Some vitamins (such as A, D, E, and K) actually need fat to be used properly by your body. Be sure to choose products containing healthy fat and remember, completely removing fat leads to hormonal imbalance.
- Many modern and popular diets today are still focused on the total or partial prohibition of carbohydrates. Can you imagine removing carbohydrates (cereals, bread, fruits, vegetables) from your diet forever? And when you stick to the diet and start eating them, what happens? Yes, you will soon gain back the lost kilos. Any diet or nutrition program that eliminates a single macronutrient will receive a red flag from the world's leading medical research centers, as you may be depriving the body of vital nutrients.
- Detox diets cleanse the body of harmful toxins. There is literally no evidence that diet cleanses actually do what they promise. Friends, our liver, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract have been doing a great job of cleansing the body since the creation of man. If you want to rejuvenate/rejuvenate your body in this way, eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
- The most popular term, I don't eat after 6. It means not eating after 18:00, because eating in the evening is more fattening than during the day. Actually, this prohibition refers to eating uncontrolled high-calorie food at night, because if you fall into a caloric deficit, eating in the evening hours will not help you.
- Grapefruit, vinegar, green tea, etc. It does not burn fat. Sorry, but no food/drink will burn fat or speed up your metabolism to have any effect on your weight loss process. Eat it if you enjoy it, but not for weight loss.
Let's forget the word "diet", only with a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet and lifestyle changes will we achieve the desired, long-term results.
